The club’s next event will be held on November 15th, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 4:30 PM at the Fishing Bay Harbor Marina in Deltaville, Va. Directions to the marina by both land and water can be found at the Web site If you plan to travel by boat, you should call the marina several days in advance to reserve dock space. There is convenient parking at the marina for those traveling by car. RSVP to by November 7th, 2014. Food and soft drinks will be available starting at 2:00 PM. T-shirts and hats will be distributed to all members. Guests are welcome. There will be a charge of $10.00 for each guest. Please indicate the number in your party when you RSVP. The rockfish tournament will be the major activity of the day. To be eligible, the rockfish must be caught on a member’s Grady-White boat. The fish may be caught anytime between October 15th and November 15th in Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Fish caught prior to November 15th can be weighed at any official Virginia weigh station. The weigh station document must be recorded on an official entry form (see below), signed by the member and weigh master and then presented by the member on November 15th. Any fish caught on November 15th, or a few days prior, can be brought directly to the marina, by either boat or car, for weighing. There will be a first place prize and a second place prize for the largest fish by weight. There will also be a ladies prize and a youth prize. Weighing and awarding of prizes will be at 3:00 PM. Members must be present to win. Members should send an e-mail to with information on their pre-tournament day catch as soon as possible. The information should include photo, date, time, general location, weight, and length. A regular update will be sent to all participants. If a small craft advisory is posted by NOAA for November 16th, fishing for that day will be cancelled. The forecast for that day can be checked at Cookout and awards ceremony will be held rain or shine. As an extra, the club will coordinate a rockfish Calcutta tournament for members who elect to participate. The dates for fishing will be November 25th through December 31st and the same rules as the November 15th tournament will apply. The cost to participate in this event is $50.00 and must be paid prior to November 25th. The payout will be determined by the fees collected. Hope you will be able to participate, Bev Butler
